*Evacuation of Tourists from Israel – Update (Sun, Mar 8, 2026)* [added Sun., March 8, 2026]
Evacuation flights are now available for those who wish to depart Israel. Ben Gurion Airport is currently operating in a limited capacity in accordance with security authorities’ instructions. Flight tickets can be booked directly through the Israeli airlines: El Al, Israir, Arkia, and Air Haifa. (Please note: some airlines are only honoring previously booked tickets & not issuing new tickets before certain dates.)
For visitors who prefer to depart via the southern border, *the Ministry of Tourism is providing shuttle services* from Jerusalem (Arena Parking Lot) and Tel Aviv (Savidor Center Train Station Parking Lot) to the Begin (Taba) Border Terminal near Eilat, allowing travelers to cross into Egypt and continue to international flight hubs.

Options to Depart - According to the U.S.A. Embassy Security Alerts: [added Sat., March 7, 2026]
Commercial flights are currently not operating out of Israel. As of March 5, the airport opened for limited inbound flights. Gradual resumption of outbound flights will begin on Sunday, March 8 at 8am. A limited number of seats on outbound flights may become available in the coming days; additional information will be provided when available. Israir is offering flights from Ben Gurion Airport March 8-10, Air Haifa is planning flights March 8 and 9. There are overland routes to Taba, Egypt, where commercial options to depart the region are operating. Americans should strongly consider departing on one of these overland routes if they believe it is safe to do so. Visit the Arkia and TUS websites to find information about flight availability and purchasing tickets, including shuttle service from Taba to Sharm El Sheikh.
· Travelers could also journey onward approximately three to four hours by road to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport which offers commercial flight connections to international destinations.

To assist tourists who wish to depart Israel, the Ministry of Tourism is operating a shuttle service from central pick-up points in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv to the Taba border crossing.
These shuttle services are scheduled for *Wednesday and Thursday, March 4–5, 2026.*

✈️ Airspace Status
The State of Israel’s airspace is currently closed. As of now, there are no take-offs or landings of civilian flights.
* Instruction: Advise tourists to maintain direct contact with their airlines or travel agents for updates.
🚗 Land Border Crossings Status:
* Menachem Begin Crossing (Taba): Open 24/7.
* Yitzhak Rabin Crossing (Arava): Open 06:30 – 20:00.
* Allenby Bridge Terminal: Open 08:00 – 17:00 (Tourist reception until 14:30).
* Jordan River Crossing (Beit She'an): Open 08:30 – 18:00 (Note: Arrival at the terminal is required by 16:30).

Airports in Jordan are operating on a limited basis. It is mandatory to verify with the airlines that flights are indeed departing from those airports before arriving at the border terminal.

* Pre-payment of Fees: It is essential to complete the border fee payment prior to arrival. Pre-payment significantly reduces waiting times and prevents congestion at point-of-sale stations.
